The Band
Three Flights Up started out about five years ago with two friends (Jim Peckham, lead guitar & Clint Davis, rhythm guitar) getting together to play and sing. Soon Clint’s brother Steve Davis joined them as drummer, Steve’s friend Tommy Crawford (male vocalist and harmonica) and Tommy’s brother John Crawford (bass guitar) joined them within a few weeks. Just five guys getting together to play and sing. Each of them grew up in the sixties and/or seventies and loved the music they heard when they were kids.
After Clint’s wife decided she had had enough of jamming in her living room, they persuaded Steve’s wife to allow them to move their weekly jam sessions to their home in historic midtown Memphis. The only problem was that the practice room was on the third floor of their home, thus, “Three Flights Up” was born!
After a few weeks at this location Steve’s wife, Tina Davis, joined the group as female vocalist along with Debby Brasfield as back-up vocalist and keyboard player. Along the way, Frank Novitzki joined the band as male back-up vocalist and keyboard player. Our common bond was our love of music from the sixties and the great harmonies these bands created.
Tommy Crawford, Clint Davis, Steve Davis and Tina Davis live in Memphis. Frank Novitzki and Jim Peckham live in Germantown. Debby Brasfield hails from Collierville and John Crawford lives in Olive Branch. Each band member enjoys playing music, but none of them are willing to give up their day jobs. They just want to play music for their own enjoyment. The added benefit that others happen to enjoy what they do is icing on the cake. Please come and join them for some great songs from the fifties, sixties and seventies! |
